The LCA is the compilation of decades of teaching fly casting. It’s as much about what is taught as how it is taught. It’s a system of casting that’s designed to be accessible, understandable, and capable of withstanding stress. It’s also proven: the only way to know if something works is to work it, and while there are lots of different casting approaches out there, it’s rare that one is actually developed and tested over time with real people. Some are bottled up and certified and passed along within a set framework, which works until someone starts asking some real questions, like how to get line out quickly. This is not for any one specific person. If you’re a beginner, you can start here. If you’re a talented angler that fishes two dozen days a year and wants to improve your casting, you can find what you need here. This is a new way of looking at fly casting, and a new way to practice. Whatever you need in casting, here is a place to find it.

It’s a bunch of videos, sorted by subject, that you can watch in pieces to learn about fly casting. You can troubleshoot specific topics, or just watch through them one by one. Let’s say you’re wondering about how to deal with a headwind. You just had a frustrating day of fishing where you feel like you’re just always too short. You can search “wind” and watch three or four different discussions of this topic: How to deal with a headwind, how to deal with an on-shoulder breeze, and how to be accurate in the wind. In each of these you will learn about what’s happening, and how to avoid things in the future.
You can also request new videos and ask questions. Online casting lessons—where you submit your own videos for review—are also available as an optional add-on.
It also includes what to practice, and how to practice. You can access exercises that are proven to improve fly casting more efficiently. No more going out and flail practicing. Now you can walk out of the door with a set of exercises to perform a set number of times, and track your progress over time. Want to learn how to really, honestly develop a back cast that is fishable and that will work into the wind? We’ve got you covered. Want to learn how to be more accurate and how to practice skills that will make your presentations more consistent? We’ve got that and more.

Yes, of course. Here is one video that we consider to be representative of the things we teach and the way that we teach them. If you find that helpful, there’s a lot more where it came from. Also, here is our introduction video that explains what we’re going to do and what you should expect from us. Our job is to earn your business, and we’re qualified to do that.
